Team Building with La Bonne Cuisine!

La Bonne Cuisine is excited to now be offering team building activities at our new Oakland facility! Try our 'Iron Chef' competition, hands on cooking classes, or Chef's Table demonstration for your next team building event. This is also a great activity for birthdays and other special occasions.

Each event starts off with a fun blind tasting of either wine or beer. Guests are welcomed into our spacious tasting room and salon to sip, sample and guess your selected beverage. Soft drinks and coffee will be served for the less adventurous.

"Iron Chef" Cooking Competition
Compete with your colleagues for the best overall meal! You will be divided into teams and given one secret ingredient to include in your meal. You will also have access to the “Market” and to the “Pantry” to create their dishes.

Each team will be asked to cook one appetizer, one main course, and one dessert. Our culinary experts will be on hand to answer questions, offer suggestions, and help each team create a delicious dish. Each team will be judged on creativity, presentation, and taste to determine the winner.

At the end of the competition your group will gather in our salon to enjoy the delicious meals you have cooked and to view photos of the day. Each guest will also receive a Chef's hat and apron to take home. This package starts at $90 per person.

Hands on Cooking Classes
Enjoy a day of cooking and learning with your colleagues. Learn either basic or advanced cooking skills with our Chef, and then enjoy eating your delicious meal! You will be divided into groups and get to go shopping inside our warehouse, which will be set up as a tiny supermarket.

Your group may choose either beginner or advanced classes, depending on skill level. In each class, cooking techniques will be taught which are tailored to your group to create a delicious meal and to bring your cooking to the next level.

At the end of the class your group will gather in our salon to enjoy the delicious meals you have cooked and to view photos of the day. Each guest will also receive a Chef's hat and apron to take home. This package starts at $90 per person.

Chef's Table
The Chef’s Table is an exciting opportunity to experience a private cooking demonstration by Executive Chef Christophe Kubiak and his culinary team.

Your group will be given an apron and a front row seat in our kitchen to watch and help our culinary team prepare a delicious meal for you. Our chefs will explain each step of the process as they cook. You will then get to eat the delicious meal created for you while mingling with your team. Our executive chef will be on hand to answer any questions.

At the end of the experience, your group will gather in our salon to view photos of the day and to receive your gift bag which will include all recipes from the meal and specialty goodies from the La Bonne Cuisine kitchen. This package starts at $75 per person.

Please contact our Sales Team for more information on any of these packages or for a custom proposal.

Happy Holidays from La Bonne Cuisine!

With the hustle and bustle of the holiday season starting to wind down, we are finally taking a moment to reflect on the season’s events. We have been fortunate to work with some very adventurous and imaginative clients to create exciting and unique holiday parties.

We love to work in unconventional spaces, and this season was no exception. We had events at the Aquarium of the Bay and the California Academy of Sciences, where guests can wander through exhibits while enjoying food and drink, creating a very interactive atmosphere. We also held events in art galleries such as Terra Gallery, where the art served as a backdrop to our equally artistic displays.

At another amazing event, we worked with our client to completely transform their building into an international experience, with food from around the world and plenty of d├ęcor and props to make it feel even more realistic. We had stations representing China, India, Egypt, Switzerland, Peru and France, and each was decorated accordingly. It was a truly impressive and creative event.

As the season is coming to a close, we are looking forward to a few days of relaxation. Rather than sharing a recipe with you, Chef Christophe thought he would share a few of his favorite local destinations for a winter excursion. For a nice day or weekend trip, he suggests heading up to Napa and enjoying a glass of bubbly at Domaine Carneros Winery. They are housed in a beautiful classic French style Chateau and offer tours and tastings overlooking the vineyards. For lunch, head north to Auberge du Soleil Restaurant, where the Kurobuta Pork is not to be missed. The restaurant is part of a beautiful resort and spa just in case you want to turn your getaway into a weekend trip. Or, if you prefer to stay in the city, head to the always amazing Michael Mina and treat yourself to a special holiday dinner.

Wherever you choose to go, we want to wish you happy holidays and a Happy New Year! See you in 2012!

ISES Gala at the Bentley Reserve

La Bonne Cuisine recently participated in the International Special Events Society (ISES) Northern California Chapter Gala, which was held at the Bentley Reserve in San Francisco. The evenings theme was "The Other Side of Midnight" with lots of fairytale elements in the decor. We created a "Garden of Sweet and Evil" dessert station for the after party, which was a big hit.
We served up lots of delicious desserts including Tarragon Ice Cream in Chocolate Covered Cones, a smoking Red Fruit Smoothie, and Redcurrant Creme Brulee. It was definitely an event to remember!
